Orthopedic rehabilitation: Recovery from surgery or injury

Have you had surgery or an injury to your bones, joints, muscles or ligaments? If so, our physical therapists can help you regain optimal movement.

Don’t forget the pre-surgery process when you undergo surgery, either. It has been scientifically proven that it is very helpful to work with a physical therapist even before your surgery to speed up recovery after surgery.

Some examples of operations we can help you with:

Knee surgeries, such as:

Hip surgeries, such as:

Shoulder surgeries, such as:

Spine surgeries, as in a:

Only operations, such as:

Of course, these are some examples, but there are many other possibilities of surgeries that we can support, think of muscle or tendon repair surgeries or surgeries on other joints.

Ideally, of course, you don’t want surgery. Even if you don’t need surgery, we can help with your rehabilitation. Think about:

  • Bone fractures
  • Muscle tears
  • Tendon ruptures
  • Sprains
  • Joint luxations
  • A painful and swollen joint

We work closely with other disciplines, such as orthopedic surgeons, general practitioners and neurologists. If necessary, we can contact the other disciplines very quickly to consult or refer.

Rehabilitation after surgery

We understand that the initial phase after surgery or injury can be quite tough. You may be in pain and limited in what you can do. We help you reduce the pain and stiffness and try to help you do as much as you can safely.

Orthopedic rehabs have many variations in duration. For example, an anterior cruciate ligament rehabilitation takes 9-12 months, but with a sprained ankle, you can do everything again after 4 weeks. We focus rehabilitation on regaining proper mobility, strength, agility, coordination, speed and fitness.
